Nikita Kuklev
Graduate Student on IOTA
University of Chicago

My name is Nikita Kuklev, and I am fourth year graduate student at the University of Chicago, working on the IOTA storage ring experiment. I have been at Fermilab for about a year, and in that time greatly enjoyed the plethora of events that FSPA has organized. My primary objective, if elected, is then obvious – ‘more of the same, and even better’. However, coming from accelerator division side, there are also specific issues that I want to tackle, such as administrative student restrictions and the disconnect between particle and accelerator physics students, and even between separate projects. While I don’t claim to have a solution, I have some ideas – for instance, more widespread advertisement, planning for wider physics community appeal, and joint events with local universities. Even better, these changes will synergize with the core FSPA efforts of inclusivity and community outreach (which admittedly are already top notch)! As for my qualifications, I served as student society VP of finance during my undergrad as well as helping run several clubs. Moreover, I derive statistically significant pleasure from perfectly budgeted and executed events – hopefully this pitch has convinced you to support me in doing just that as an FSPA officer.
