Career Seminars

FSPA is pleased to host a biweekly seminar series for early-career researchers at Fermilab, designed to support professional development and career exploration. This series provides a platform for researchers to gain insight into a wide range of career pathways, both within academia and across industry, national laboratories, and beyond.

Each seminar features invited speakers from diverse backgrounds who will share their personal career journeys, highlighting the decisions, challenges, and opportunities that shaped their paths. By showcasing a variety of trajectories, the series aims to emphasize that there is no single “correct” route, and that successful careers in science can take many forms.

In addition to discussing their own experiences, speakers will offer practical advice on navigating the job market, including strategies for job applications, networking, transitioning between sectors, and building transferable skills. The series also encourages open discussion, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with speakers in an informal and supportive environment.

Overall, the seminar series seeks to empower early-career researchers with the knowledge, confidence, and connections needed to make informed decisions about their future careers.
