Bethany McCusker

I am a third-year PhD student at Lancaster University in the UK and will be continuing as an FSPA officer for the 2025/26 term. My research focuses on the Short-Baseline Near Detector at Fermilab, where I am involved in detector operations, serving as an expert on the TPC and CRT subsystems. My PhD analysis centres on measuring electron diffusion in SBND.

Originally from the north of England, I split my time between Lancaster and Fermilab. I’m excited to continue supporting the student–postdoc community for another year and to help organise more events that bring people together. As an FSPA officer, my goal is to foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for early-career scientists at Fermilab.
